Neelakamalā is a majestic navy blue handloom Kanchi silk cotton saree intricately woven with the iconic Aayiram Butta — a thousand-flower motif grid — in golden and rust-orange threads. These radiant floral buttas symbolise abundance and artistry, blooming symmetrically across the rich blue base.

The pallu is resplendent in shimmering gold zari featuring motifs of regal gaja yazhis, peacocks, and coin patterns, framed with temple-inspired borders — a nod to the grandeur of South Indian weaving traditions. The blouse piece is in same navy blue, bordered in pink and zari for a striking contrast.

This saree is an elegant blend of silk and fine cotton, handwoven in Kanchipuram. Its structure, breathability, and luminous finish make it perfect for weddings, festivals, or temple ceremonies.

Specifications:

  • Saree Dimension: 560 cms x 120 cms
  • Blouse: Unstitched Navy Blue Blouse with Rani Pink Zari Border
  • Care: Dry Clean Recommended

Note: This saree is entirely handwoven. Minor irregularities are not defects but rather the charm of the artisan’s touch. Colour may slightly vary based on lighting and screen resolution. AI-generated model drape shown for styling reference. Actual saree is as per product images.

First Wash
Add a handful of non-iodised salt to cold water and soak your saree for 20–30 minutes before the first wash. This locks the dye into the fabric. If some colour bleeds into the water — don't worry, that is simply excess dye releasing, a natural trait of plant-based and natural dyes. Proceed with hand wash or a gentle machine cycle after soaking.
Hand Wash
Gently hand wash in cold water using a mild detergent or raw shikakai/soap nut solution.
Machine Wash
If machine washing, set to Gentle or Delicate mode with low spin. Place the saree in a mesh laundry bag for added protection.
Wash Separately
Wash dark and bright colours separately for the first 2–3 washes to prevent colour transfer.
No Wringing
Do not twist or wring. Gently press out excess water and roll the saree in a soft dry towel to absorb moisture.
Dry in Shade
Always dry in shade, away from direct sunlight. Direct sun can fade natural dyes and weaken silk threads over time.
Steam Iron or Low Heat
Iron on low to medium heat on the reverse side. For silk sarees, place a thin cloth between the iron and the fabric. Avoid steam on zari or metallic borders.
Dry Clean for Special Weaves
Pure silk, heavy zari work, and festival sarees are best dry cleaned to preserve their lustre and structure.
Storage
Fold along the original fold lines and store in a muslin cloth — never plastic. Refold every few months to avoid permanent crease marks. Tuck in a neem leaf or herbal sachet to naturally deter insects.
Natural fibres breathe, age, and tell stories — a little care keeps them alive for generations.
