Two traditional crafts. One complete set. Handmade in Barmer, Rajasthan.
The dupatta you see is not printed. Each elephant, camel, butterfly and flower is a separate piece of Ajrakh fabric — hand-cut and hand-stitched onto white mul cotton one motif at a time. The same Ajrakh block print that runs across the top fabric lives on the dupatta as applique cut work — a rare pairing of two distinct Rajasthani craft traditions in a single set.
✦ WHAT'S IN THE SET
🖤 Top / Kameez fabric — Indigo Ajrakh hand block print cotton
🩷 Bottom / Salwar fabric — Matched blue cotton with subtle texture
🤍 Dupatta — White mul cotton with Ajrakh hand-cut applique motifs (elephant) and a cut-work zigzag Ajrakh border
✦ THE CRAFT
🏺 Ajrakh Hand Block Printing — An ancient resist-dyeing and block-printing tradition from Barmer, Rajasthan. The geometric floral repeat on the top fabric is stamped by hand using carved wooden blocks, layer by layer, in natural dye colours.
✂️ Barmer Applique Cut Work — Called Kataab locally, this craft involves hand-cutting fabric motifs with a chisel and stitching them onto a base cloth using an almost invisible blind stitch. The Ajrakh fabric from the top is used to cut the motifs on the dupatta — making both pieces speak the same design language.

This is a handcrafted product. Minor variations in weave, block print placement, applique stitch spacing, and colour tone are natural characteristics of handloom weave, hand block printing and hand applique work — not defects. Every product is unique.
First Wash
Add a handful of non-iodised salt to cold water and soak your saree for 20–30 minutes before the first wash. This locks the dye into the fabric. For plant-based and natural dyes, some colour bleeds into the water — don't worry, that is simply excess dye releasing, a natural trait. Proceed with hand wash or a gentle machine cycle after soaking.
Hand Wash
Gently hand wash in cold water using a mild detergent or raw shikakai/soap nut solution.
Machine Wash
If machine washing, set to Gentle or Delicate mode with low spin. Place the saree in a mesh laundry bag for added protection. Avoid machine wash for very delicate and heavy zari sarees.
Wash Separately
Wash dark and bright colours separately for the first 2–3 washes to prevent colour transfer.
No Wringing
Do not twist or wring. Gently press out excess water and roll the saree in a soft dry towel to absorb moisture.
Dry in Shade
Always dry in shade, away from direct sunlight. Direct sun can fade natural dyes and weaken silk threads over time.
Steam Iron or Low Heat
For Cotton and Khadi Sarees, steam iron on medium to high heat. For delicate cotton and silk cotton sarees, Iron on low to medium heat on the reverse side. For silk sarees, place a thin cloth between the iron and the fabric. Avoid steam on zari or metallic borders.
Storage
Fold along the original fold lines and store in preferably a muslin cloth — never plastic. Refold every few months to avoid permanent crease marks. Tuck in a neem leaf or herbal sachet to naturally deter insects.
Natural fibres breathe, age, and tell stories — a little care keeps them alive for generations.
Every order is processed and shipped the next working day (Sundays a Holiday). Delivery takes 2–7 working days depending on your location. We send updates through WhatsApp.
